Newly elected Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council meets with the GIZ leadership

On January 29, 2016 Mr. Hlib Pryhunov, the newly elected Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, Mr. Valeriy Bezus, Deputy Head, Ms. Valeria Bondarenko, Advisor, and Mr. Andryi Fedotov, Chief Specialist of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency paid a visit to the project “Energy Efficiency in Municipalities” implemented by GIZ to meet with the leadership of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit’ (GIZ) GmbH in Ukraine, as well as with representatives of the projects implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Government.

The purpose of the meeting moderated by Ms. Christiana Hageneder, Project Director, was to discuss the achievements and cooperation prospects of Dnipropetrovsk oblast in the framework of the German-Ukrainian technical assistance programmes.

Important guests were welcomed by Mr. Wolfgang Mossinger, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Donetsk, who outlined the main directions of cooperation between Germany and Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Ms. Sabine Müller, GIZ Country Director in Belarus and Ukraine, highlighted the core activities of GIZ in Ukraine, while Mr. Hlib Pryhunov, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, presented his vision of the future relations between the Regional Council and GIZ. The meeting resulted in reaching agreement on the further development of efficient and fruitful cooperation that has already brought significant achievements.
